Sabrina is beautiful inside and out. She's the kind of spirit that inspires others without even saying a word. I've met Sabrina a few years ago, we worked together and even though we never talked on serious philosophical things, I got her right away and knew she was and is an inspiring soul and the type this world should have more of. 

She contacted me saying that she wanted a few pictures of herself. She followed my work and always thought about doing a session, but thought she would be no match to the girls I photograph all the time. That made me giggle. If she knew that all the girls I photograph say the exact same thing she would laugh too. They do. And that is why I created the project BeRaw afterwards. Because I believe in a project that makes you see yourself how others see you. A project that makes you feel sexy, beautiful and comfortable in your own skin.  I pretty much think she nailed it this day. See proof. 

 

Sinto que este ano vai ser um ano cheio de luz, e apesar de intenso, cheio de coisas novas. Quero muito fazer deste ano um ano criativo e desafiante. Experimentar coisas noivas, sair da minha zona de conforto e poder chegar a mais pessoas. Quero muito retornar aos projectos pessoais e poder ensinar pessoas a ser persistentes e a alcançarem o que mais desejam. Gosto de simplicidade e é disso mesmo que me vou rodear durante todo o ano. Alcançar coisas que desejo mas sempre fiel ao que sou. Melhorar em áreas fora da fotografia (apesar desta ser a minha base e sempre presente) como maquilhagem, é um dos meus planos mais prementes de realizar em 2014. Amo a luz desta sessão quase obsessivamente. Voltar a fotografar as mesmas pessoas, e ainda assim conseguir um resultado tão diferente é um troféu. Esta sessão com a Mafalda sem dúvida que vai para o topo juntamente com as minhas preferidas.

I feel that this will be a year full of light, and even though intense, full of new things. I really want to make this year a creative and challenging one. I want to experiment new things, get out of my comfort zone and be able to reach more people. I really want to get back to personal projects and be able to teach people how to stay persistent to be able to reach all they wish the most. I like simplicity and that is with what I want to surround myself with during this year. Reaching things I desire but always remain true to myself. Get better in mediums outside photography (even though photography will remain as my main medium and always present) like makeup, is one of my most pressing plans for 2014. I love the light in this session almost obsessively. Photographing the same people again and yet achieve such a diverse result is a beautiful trophy. This session with Mafalda is going to the top amongst my favorite ones without any doubt.
